Frequently Asked Questions

What is Spot UV varnishing?

Spot UV varnish is a process that produces a high gloss varnish on the printed sheet. It can be used on logo’s, pictures or as a feature graphic. It’s especially effective on matt laminated stocks.

What is the difference between aqueous varnish and normal varnish?

Aqueous varnish is water-base and dries hard to provide a protective matt or gloss coating. Conventional matt, satin and gloss varnishes are similar to ink and used mostly for sealing or to give a special design effect.

Why we prefer artwork supplied as a PDF.

Creating a PDF locks in the fonts, pictures and graphics increasing the reliability of the artwork file. We also accept files in Indesign, QuarkXpress and Illustrator if you would prefer to supply your artwork in these formats.
